Kugluktuk (pop. 1,491) is located on the Arctic mainland, at the mouth of the Coppermine River. The Inuit and the inland Dene met and occasionally fought here. The Kugluktuk Heritage Visitor Centre and Museum offers an introduction to the history, and the Coppermine River and Bloody Fall are justly famed for Arctic Char runs.
