BRØNNØY, NORWAY
The troll Hestmannen, enraged that his love for young Lekamøy had gone unrequited for too long, fired an arrow to kill her as she fled from him. The troll-king Sømma saw this and threw down his hat, blocking the arrow and saving Lekamøy. When the sun came up, the hat was turned to stone, creating Torghatten. Today, you can walk a path to the mountain’s hole. Just watch out for angry trolls.
