Carmacks (pop. 583), named after gold discoverer George Carmack, is located on the Klondike Highway between Whitehorse and Dawson City, on the Yukon River. This is the home of the Little Salmon/Carmacks First Nation and the site of the Tagé Cho Hudän Interpretive Centre, displaying the culture of the Northern Tutchone.
