Délı̨nę, Northwest Territories

Délı̨nę (pop. 625) is the only community on Great Bear Lake, located near the headwaters of the Bear River. This is a self-governing part of the Sahtu claim. Délı̨nę means "where the waters flow", a reference to the headwaters of the Great Bear River. The area was used as a staging point for Sir John Franklin's second Arctic expedition in 1827.
