Wet t-shirt contest: Dip a t-shirt in water and hang it outside. Now watch it freeze.

It’s hammer time: A banana freezes solid and you can use it to hammer a nail straight through a board.

Ice vapour: Definitely the most Instagram-worthy: toss water in the air and capture the frozen spray as it blows away.

Tiny bubbles: Watch frost creep across the surface of a bubble, giving it a fogged-glass finish.

Ice Globe: Make your own frozen bubble. Photo by Michelle Fritz.

Are the lights out?
